Flying Model Simulator
Minimum requirements:
IBM or 100%compatible computer with at least 300Mhz.
Operating system:
Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP with DIRECTX 7.0 or later. (Vista see below)
Graphic card:
Must support 3d acceleration with DirectX.
Control:
Keyboard/Joystick/Transmitter.
Compatible transmitter:
JR, Hitec and Futaba transmitters round/square pin.
Sound:
DirectX compatible sound card.
Contains:
Cable for connecting transmitter to computer.
Instruction sheet.
Installation:
Down load the FMS free software from http://www.n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/beta/fmsdisk01.exe
Click on FMSDISKOI to run setup, follow the instructions on screen, connecting the transmitter to the computer, Connect cable to the trainer jack of the transmitter.( PCM radio need to change to PPM mode)  Find an available com port or a printer port and connect the other end of the cable.
Starting up FMS:
Click on the `FMS 2.0 beta 7' icon on the desktop.
Run FMS.
Open the `control' task bar,  select `Analog Control', then select Serial PIC-Interface or others.
Click on `Resources' and select the port that is in use (com 2 or.. ),  go to `mapping/calibration'
Key in the channels numbers accordingly
Hitec / Futaba:
Rudder – 4,  Elevator -- 2,  Aileron -- 1, Throttle -- 3, Tail -- 4, Nick – 2, Roll -- I,  Pitch -- 3
JR:
Rudder – 4,  Elevator -- 3,  Aileron -- 2, Throttle -- 1, Tail -- 4, Nick – 3, Roll -- 2,  Pitch -- 1

Invert channels for rudder, ailerons, tail and roll. For Hitec /Futaba radio,
Invert channels for elevator, ailerons, throttle and nick, roll, pitch for JR radio,

Click on calibration and follow the instructions. your FMS is now fully configured and ready to fly.


Please note for Hitec and Futaba use, you will need to switch on the transmitter in order to operate the simulator program.
For JR use, you need not switch on the JR transmitter.
Please set your transmitter to PPM mode to run the simulator.

You will have to copy a file called D3DRM.DLL from Windows XP machine (c:\windows\system32 directory OR download from web) and paste it to your Vista (c:\windows\system32 directory).
Please note that before you do this, enable the Vista System Restore so that if any unusual thing happened to your Vista machine, you can revert it back to good working condition. 


if you like to add more model's in the simulator program, you may visit some of the web to download it and un-zip it in the ....../Fms/Model folder will do.
